NewAir AC-12000E 12,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner With R410A Refrigerant
Portable air conditioners are an indispensable appliance for many homeowners. With so many different models available on the market it takes a lot of research to find the product that is best for you. There are many things to take into consideration, such as efficiency, air flow, features, as well as the size of the room or area that you want to cool. In reviewing air conditioners I am able to compare the pros and cons of the different models and if you are looking for a powerful, yet compact model, there is one that stands out in terms of performance and value for money.
The portable air conditioner I am talking about is the NewAir AC-12000E, which is unsurprisingly the number 1 best selling portable at the moment. One reason for this in addition to the level of quality is the exceptional value when you see the price reductions that are available.

NewAir AC-12000E - No Shortage of Cooling Power
For such a small and compact unit the first thing to say is that it certainly packs a hell of a punch! The blower has tremendous power that is rated to cool rooms up to 425 sq ft in area. In reality it will usually cope with much larger areas depending on the ambient temperature. Indeed I have heard of one being used to cool most of a 1200 sq ft house when it has been running long enough. In other words it can cool a complete house, not just one or two rooms. I’ve seen another example of an AC-12000E keeping half an 1100 sq ft house cool as long as it is turned on before the temperature gets above 80 degrees or so. Well worth the price for the portability of it and the convenience of setup and storage.
At the heart of the AC-12000 is a powerful motor, which in combination with the advanced NanoMist technology provides 12,000 BTUs of power. The utilization of the patented Auto Drain NanoMist™ Technology means that the unit is essentially auto-evaporative. This self-evaporative condensate system therefore means it does not require draining at all when used in optimal conditions.
Installation is Fast and Easy
The NewAir AC-12000E can be installed inside 15 minutes, it’s that easy! The window exhaust kit is easy to assemble and not fiddly like some other models and the window kit can be set up in just a few minutes. This isn’t a permanent installation and the unit is compact and easy-rolling so that you can place it in any room in the house. Indeed, that is the beauty of a portable air conditioner like this as it gives you the ability to get cold air in the areas where it is most needed.
Looks Good Too!
One of the things that I don’t like about many portable air conditioners is the fact that so many of them look like they were designed twenty years ago. At last manufacturers have realized that homeowners want units that will look good in their home. NewAir have designed the AC-12000E with a sleek and modern design with that will fit nicely into any room. While many other portable AC units with a similar cooling capacity tend to be larger, this unit is much more compact and its tower design allows you to fit it into smaller areas than other similar capacity units. It also weighs in at only 50 pounds, making it very light to move around.
Easy to Operate
This portable AC has easy to Operate Controls comprising a remote control, a built-in thermostat, 24 hour timer, auto-defrost and an easy to use LCD control panel with bright contrast. In most cases you will find that you never have to empty the water drain, which is something you have to do up to 3 times a day on units without the auto-evaporative technology.
Quiet and Efficient Operation
The state-of-the-art auto-evaporative system results in improved cooling efficiency and less condensate accumulation. Indeed the AC-12000E is more efficient than other 12000 BTU units that are available, having as it does an EER rating of 10.51. Considering its power you might expect it to be noisy but the best description is that it is whisper quiet, even at the highest setting.
The NewAir AC-12000E uses R-410A, which is a more environmentally friendly refrigerant in that it provides improved cooling compared to older types of refrigerant resulting in a lower energy consumption. The multiple modes of operation and convenient features make this portable air conditioner highly recommended…Buy NewAir AC-12000E

Portable Air Conditioners - How Many BTU Do You Need?
Most portable air conditioning units for home use have cooling capacities in the range from 5000 BTUs up to 16,000 BTUs. In order to determine how many BTUs you only need to know two main things. The first is the area of the room measured in square feet. The second is whether there are any other factors that might affect the cooling efficiency of the unit. These can include things such as large appliances that give off heat, large windows or skylights that let in direct sunlight or a high ceiling. If any of these factors apply to you then the number of BTUs needs to be increased by 1,000 to 4,000 BTU.
For a standard 8 foot ceiling height the following table gives an indication as to how many BTUs you require
| BTU | Square Feet |
| 5,000 | 150-175 |
| 6,000 | 175-225 |
| 7,000 | 200-300 |
| 8,000 | 300-350 |
| 9,000 | 300-425 |
| 10,000 | 300-450 |
| 12,000 | 350-500 |
| 13,000 | 400-500 |
| 14,000 | 400-500 |
| 16,000 | 450-550 |
